"eternal dance"

Slowly circling my love for all time
Our past and future forever intertwined
When I get close, changes in her occur
At times she shields me, as I have shielded her

I effect her, her effect is unclear
An unspoken bond, that keeps me so near
Pushing and pulling, forever at unrest
Constantly moving, our endurance a true test

Her beauty, I have taken it all in
I have admired her since our dance did begin
I show my age, all gray am I
She is more beautiful as time has passed by

Our dance will continue until our masters demise
We will perish together, it is no big surprise
I will protect her, but our master is strong
He will embrace us, and all we are will be gone

"sky"

The sun is setting, to the west it heads
Blue skies succumb into the hues of red
Darkness creeps in, slowly from the east
The western horizon, consumes its feast

Western skies the colors my eyes consume
For a moment the sun seems to loom
In an instant, it vanishes out of sight
Yielding blue skies to the darkness of night

As the darkness takes over, little specs start to shine
Connecting the dots since the beginning of time
Filling the sky with a different light show
What you see, depends where you go

As in the beginning, it will be in the end
Off to the east, blue skies appear again
Darkness yields to the coming sunrise
Just like a sunset, it is beauty to ones eyes

"worth?"

Paper and minerals, all of this earth.
Who's bright idea was to give it worth?
People have died so others could obtain.
A life for numbers, seems so insane.

How many zero's need to follow a one?
How many lives need to be undone?
What is enough, while people go hungry?
All in the pursuit of worthless money?

Paper and minerals, we work to earn.
One will melt, the other will burn.
Neither of which can you drink or eat.
Only your pockets do those wish to deplete.

Supply and demand, sets the price.
Supply is limited, demand on the rise.
Squeezing the flow, only to control.
Is that not the same as if you stole?

Of all the riches, what will fit in your grave?
How long will mankind to money be enslaved?
Everything around a product of man and earth.
Perhaps we should re-evaluate what we think has worth?

"only shadows remain"

Cause and effect a simple truth
Look at your choices to see the proof
The past was, it can never be changed
In our minds, only shadows remain

All we have is here and now
You reap what you sow, now its time to plow
The past is the past is just what they say
In our lives, only shadows remain

Some will forget, while others re-live
Keep moving forward, is the only advice I can give
People look to the past, it is always the same
Within our past, only shadows remain

Before you blame, just know your part
Set into motion, when the universe did start
Love is not exempt, it is governed the same
In our hearts, only shadows remain

Inside of me, you exist in my heart
My love still strong, although we are apart
My insecurities, so I burden the shame
Of all my love for you, only shadows remain.

It’s not only choices, it’s the universes way
Where ever there is cause, then an effect has to play
Interconnected with all, rules govern this game
Throughout the universe, only shadows remain

"checkmate"

We played a game, known as love
In the beginning, it was heaven and above
Our pawns moved forward, across the board
Our hearts the King, our protection was sworn

Piece by piece, the board was cleared
Truth was the queen, we both seemed to fear
I sacrificed pieces, which you thought were free
Setting this board, for defeat or victory

Black and white, the true color of love
My broken heart, weeps out in blood
Knights and Bishops, find a striking place
The Queen sets out, from her starting space

I gave you time, for my Kings protection
My final move, I don’t think you were expecting
Truth moves in, for us it’s too late
This game of ours ends, in a simple “checkmate”.

"shattered heart"

Shattered heart the pieces scattered
My soulless love all beaten and tattered
Pain and suffering scream from within
Behind the facade of my practiced grin

What was once me, now only a shell
On lost love my mind seems to dwell
Enduring more pain, its a masochist way
Love has a price, at times we must pay

It feels as if this will hurt forever
Not wanting to get out into new endeavors
Along the way I will pick up my hearts pieces
My bruises will heal and the suffering eases

Shattered heart I will piece it back
Cracked and broken, but the glue will tack
A piece missing, but it will have to do
The piece thats missing will always be you

"dance of souls"

The sun sets on me, while you are in a dream
A world apart, yet closer you seem
Perhaps one day our dreams will intertwine
Our souls will meet and dance one time

We would find ourselves in a special place
Not governed by rules of time and space
Our souls would embrace, our dance would start
Each of us knowing, what was in the others heart

Moving and twirling across the universe
Our moves as one, as if rehearsed
Our laughter would cause new galaxies to form
Repairing parts of the universe, previously torn

Our dance would end, our souls would part ways
Realizing then, no words did we say
When we awake, the memories remain strong
Knowing our laughter was the universes song
